Visitors to Pamplin Historical Park will encounter costumed interpreters every day. These Park historians, wearing reproduction clothing and engaged in historically accurate activities, may be found in several of four locations throughout the Park.

Military Interpreters

Historians portraying Confederate soldiers inhabit the Military Encampment or the Fortifications exhibit. In addition to scheduled programs, the military interpreters demonstrate soldier life skills, fire weapons, and discuss the clothing and equipment worn by soldiers during the Civil War.

Civilian Interpreters

Park historians at Tudor Hall, the kitchen, gardens, or Field Quarter demonstrate various aspects of agricultural life on an antebellum Southern plantation. On any given day, meals may be prepared in the kitchen, vegetables harvested out of the garden, crops tended in the field, or farm crafts practiced.
